LO5: Evidence of using tools to improve the trailer
This is what the improved trailer looks like in Adobe Premiere. The main things that I added were the text and sound effects to the introduction, the new audio that we recorded at Cal's house and the different clips that are in the documentary, replacing the others in the previous version of the trailer.
LO5: Changes to the draft work and improvements
The first change that I made was to add the text to the introduction clip. I did this because Cal's voice is quite deep on the audio, and as it is a fast cut the audience might not be able to understand the words just from the audio. We also re-recorded the audio as the first take sounded too grainy and unprofessional. I added new sound effects such as the dramatic sound after each word in the introduction, Cal striking the ball, the ball hitting the back of the net and the light switch at the very end. I created an echo when Cal says "...and this is my story", this was to give the trailer a dramatic effect.
LO5: Draft work/offline edit
These are the drafts for the trailer that I first created.
I decided to change this first version of the trailer because I felt like it didn't look like a trailer.
I decided to change this version of the trailer because I felt like the music didn't fit with the documentary style and the scenes could be represented better. The audio sounds muffled in places too so this will be re-recorded and added to the new trailer.
This is the offline edit that I used to get the footage from to create the trailers.
LO5: Evidence of using Premiere
One of the transitions that I created was the start of one clip and the end of another overlapping to have the effect of them stuttering from one to the next. I did this to match the beat of the song in the background.
Once I had cut the clips frame by frame, I deleted every couple and filled the gaps with clips from the other shot.
To make the trailer for the Sheff Shooters look like a trailer, I used a Cinematic Lumetri preset to make the colours stand out more. To create the effect I simply dragged the preset over the top of the clips.
